- Provide direct patient care in the labor and delivery unit - Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery - Assist with the management of pain during labor, including administration of pain medications and epidurals - Perform vaginal deliveries and assist with cesarean sections - Provide postpartum care to mothers and newborns - Educate patients on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients - Document patient information accurately and timely
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse - Proficient in tube feeding and catheterization procedures - Experience in senior care and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus - Knowledge of workers' compensation laws related to maternity leave and benefits - Familiarity with medical terminology specific to labor and delivery unit - Ability to dialyze patients if necessary - Experience in an ambulatory surgery center is preferred - Competency in specimen collection processing and triage Requirements:
